# Squarespace (/docs/squarespace)

The Squarespace integration publishes articles from EarlySEO to a **Squarespace hosted blog** by connecting through a custom domain you provide.

> Squarespace uses a hosted blog model. EarlySEO connects via the domain you specify and your chosen publishing mode.

Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

* A Squarespace site with a connected custom domain
* An EarlySEO account

Setup [#setup]

1. Enable your Squarespace blog [#1-enable-your-squarespace-blog]

1. In your Squarespace dashboard, add a **Blog** page if you don't already have one
2. Make sure your custom domain is properly connected and live

2. Create the integration in EarlySEO [#2-create-the-integration-in-earlyseo]

1. Go to **Integrations** in your EarlySEO dashboard

2. Click **Add Integration** and select **Squarespace**

3. Fill in the form:
   * **Domain**: your Squarespace site's custom domain (e.g. `www.example.com`)
   * **Mode**: choose how EarlySEO connects to your site

4. Choose a **Publishing Mode**:

| Mode    | Description                                       |
| ------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **DNS** | EarlySEO handles publishing via DNS configuration |

5. Click **Create Integration**

3. DNS Configuration [#3-dns-configuration]

After creating the integration, you may need to update your DNS settings:

1. Follow the DNS instructions shown in the EarlySEO dashboard
2. Add or update the required DNS records at your domain registrar
3. Wait for propagation (up to 48 hours, usually much faster)

Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

**Domain not resolving**

* Verify your DNS records match the values shown in EarlySEO
* Use a DNS lookup tool to check propagation status
* Wait at least 30 minutes after making DNS changes

**Articles not appearing**

* Confirm the integration status shows as **Connected** in your EarlySEO dashboard
* Check that your Squarespace site is live and accessible

**SSL / certificate issues**

* EarlySEO automatically handles SSL for connected domains
* If you see certificate warnings, wait for DNS propagation to complete
